Jake Wright
Designer
Staring into the middle distance, Jake reflects on a career path uncommonly experienced by peers in visual communications. Towards the end of 1997, an undergraduate degree in biology catalyzed his professional trajectory into cramped laboratory conditions, murine cancer experiments and bad coffee. Inspired by the information design of biology books he once studied, Jake recoiled from the swivel chair, leapt to the drawing table and charted a new course to become the graphic designer he knows he was born to be. Since then, Jake has enjoyed working in all creative aspects for companies as varied as SAIC, Storey Publishing, Blue Q and, of course, id29. He eagerly enumerates the mantra 'smart, simple, memorable' – clearly, the scientific process hasn't completely run it's course. And he's proud to declare that anything is possible so long as you stay true to yourself, work hard and never give up.
